ON THE ISSUES

a

Learn More About these Issues

a

Public Education

a

“As your Alderman, I will support our District’s families so that we can hold MPS administration accountable and have stronger and successful schools for our children. We all need to work together to accomplish this.”

As a substitute teacher of 10 years and the president of the MTEA’s substitute teachers’ division, Alex Brower has seen firsthand the issues that our children and educators are facing. Our children deserve better, and he is dedicated to ensuring they receive it.

a

Constituent Services

a

“When it comes to constituent services in District 3, you can expect me to be responsive and transparent”

Alex Brower is committed to providing quality constituent services, and making deep connections with the community he will serve. These include sending out a quality of life survey, holding monthly town halls, creating a Pothole Patrol, and appointing a team of neighborhood leaders.

a

Creating a Safer City

a

“Community organizations and residents need to work together to find solutions, so we all feel safe where we live.“

Our city needs to be a place that feels secure for all city residents, and Alex Brower is committed to making that happen. We must all come together to prevent crime, but we must ensure that we do allow our solution to simply harm communities who are already marginalized.

a

Community Engagement

a

“District 3 is strong because people care about their community. I will be an Alderman who will listen, learn and lead.“

Alex Brower knows that deep community engagement is the greatest strength of District 3, and intends to not only continue encouraging that involvement, but to grow it even further. He will host monthly town halls while in office, town halls like the one he recently attended in Murray Hill.

a

Replacing We Energies

Replacing We Energies

a

“We can replace We Energies with a utility that we own, allowing us to have a say in energy prices and when we can move to carbon-free energy.“

There is a little known Wisconsin State Law, Chapter 197, that would allow the City of Milwaukee to replace We Energies with a utility owned by the people of this city, rather than shareholders. Alex Brower intends to utilize that law, so we can remove the profit-motive from our energy bills.
